Calling all Jon Stevens fans! Now you have the opportunity to spread the word! The official Jon Stevens Street Team is currently recruiting new members. The street team is a group of fans bonding together to actively promote Jon in their cities or nearest areas, as well as online. Your job will be to make sure that there isn't one person in your area who hasn't heard of Jon Stevens! Members have a lot of fun spreading the word around, and the entire team is rewarded for its great efforts. It's also a fantastic way for fellow fans to meet one another! Fresh from the Street Team desk... Hi guys 'n' gals, thanks for being so patient while Jon's website was getting some 'tszujing'. The Sydney branch of the street team was in full swing in October, working on a last-minute project that saw Jon perform a show at The Vanguard in Newtown (and what a gorgeous venue it is). Now that Jon has added more dates to the short tour, particularly in VIC and SA, this will give teamsters in other regions more opportunities to shine. For future reference, folks: you can always spot a teamster by their front-row positions at every show, their loud vocal support and sometimes their custom-made street team t-shirts!
The street team has also been working hard to increase awareness of Jon's exclusive iTunes track, "This Is My Time". Used as the State of Origin theme for 2006, footy punters and music fans alike have had this song in their heads. We have recently recruited regional representatives to assist in the more specific, localized promo tasks, and so far they have been doing fantastic work. (It certainly makes my job a little easier!) Teamsters have been using heavy online promotion to get the word out, particularly on Myspace which is increasingly becoming an effective medium for publicity.
